Another incredible 2015 crash compilation from the Nürburgring Nordschleife… and for the record that wasn’t me driving the Porsche RingTaxi near the start!
Nothing’s really changed between now and the 1960s/1970s, but maybe (just maybe) if we had a little think, we could make 2016 safer? I’ll list some ideas below the video…
So here are some random thoughts for you to digest, and I’d encourage your own ideas to be posted below in the comments:
- Free recovery would encourage people to stop instead of running away when they drop fluid, thus reducing deaths and injuries.
- How come I can’t hire the Nordschleife for a trackday without 20+ flag marshalls, but a massive TF sunday can have 1000s of cars with no flag marshalls?
- Obvious trolling, but… Ban all obvious fast-lapping ring tools? Or ban all none-fast lapping ring tools? I’d invite your responses below.
- No point having flashing yellow lights and yellow flags if people don’t know what they mean! Which means briefing cards or even printing the rules on the lap tickets…
- CCTV on every section, with a control room and digital F1-style flagboards to show yellows/greens etc…
What do you think?
