Yes, it’s snowed. After I mentioned it in yesterday’s blog post, the Nürburgring is currently relaxing under a chilly white blanket of nature’s finest frozen water.

It was supposed to be Industrie Pool today, with manufacturers testing cars all day until the public session kicks off. But cars like the BMW M2 above were locked up all day, behind bars, unable to lap.
The Nordschleife carpark was much the same story, big steel bars signalling a complete lack of lapping for those who made the journey. Nürburgring announcing the track’s closure tonight via this facebook post.
Of course, where there’s a will, there’s a way. So I headed out to the forest to try and capture some impressions of this Winter’s first snow…
The Nürburgring hardly ever rests though, as you can see from that Unimog-driving repair crew.
These early VLN fans will, like the rest of us, be watching the forecast for the coming days very closely indeed.
With temperatures looking almost certain to rise again in the next few days, there’s still a good chance that we’ll be enjoying the Nordschleife this weekend.
The #CTMEET will be going ahead too, no matter what the weather. If we can’t drive it in real-life, I’ll see about bringing some games and sims along to RingGarage instead.
