The 'dash for the cash' continues unabated as plans to open the 5km GP circuit for 'touristenfahrten' have been revealed. The dates cover 28 days between March and September, cost €30 per 20minutes and are run on the same basis as 'TF' on the Nordschleife (i.e. road-legal cars, road laws apply).
It was almost a year ago that BTG brought you the first shots of the 2009 Focus RS testing on the Nürburgring. Today is the first day of Nürburgring 'Industry pool' testing in 2009, and as if to celebrate, here's a few photos and a video of the finished, Nordschleife-honed, RS in action...
Attached is a video by BTG's very own Dave_E. It's from the end of last year, during the now defunct Motorsports Akademie Nürburgring days. Dave's in his modded Elise 111, Don Campbell is driving his exquisitely prepared 964 Carrera, and I'm in mu little Alfa 75. We'd just finished the license test, and while technically I was leading the two 'students' around the track, in reality I think I was being pushed... judge for yourself!
Phil has asked me to point out that the latest edition of ROAD magazine is out and on your screens now. This isn't just a regular, run-of-the-mill copy though. This is a Nürburgring edition; with all that ROAD enthusiasm pointed squarely at our favourite track.
It includes the Nurburgring mixed with the following: GTRs, Sabines, BMW 135s, GT3RS, suspension gurus, cheap track hacks, slides, BTG peeps, and more...
