It's the first day of summer here at the 'ring, or at least it just feels that way. The sun is warm and the ambient lunch-hour noise is that of V8s under load, pushing a whole range of experimental metal around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Lots more photos after the jump...

Sent to me by the ringbunny, if you're a Sabine fan you'll love this to bits. Joerund, the chap who wheelies past the camera at Ex-Mühle, was a constant inspiration of mine. I used to sit in my office after hours, watching his onboard bike videos from beginning to end, one after the other, desperate for my next visit! Tonight at 2200CET (2100GMT) we will be running our second GT5 meeting. Last week's spontaneous Facebook-organised meeting resulted in some excellent racing, and we plan on repeating that tonight with TWO events:

• The first feature race will be for cars with no more than 450pp and running comfort (soft) tyres. It will be held over two laps of the 24-hour circuit, over a 30-minute day-night cycle WITH changeable weather.
• The second feature race will be a simple one-lap battle of the Nordschleife in standard BMW M5s. Think of this as our own special ode to the V10 Ring Taxi!

A direct 'room number' will be published in the comments section below some time after 2100 CET (2000GMT)

No racing: lots of winners. Touristenfahrten!

M3 GTS: Notice the kid in the front seat - the envy of all his schoolmates!

Touristenfahrt is back up and running on the Nürburgring Nordschleife after the repair break. Despite there being only two days notice for this opening, plenty of people made the trip for a Saturday afternoon, and we're expecting even more tomorrow. I was keen to get photos of our two newest rental cars in action; the OPC Corsas. While I was out on assignment, I thought it would be rude not to snap a few pictures of the cool metal going past Brünnchen...
