The eagerly awaited most mental Merc ever is edging closer and closer to completion. I am talking about the AMG SLS Black Edition. And you can watch the rumoured-660bhp monster power around the 'ring below.
This will likely be the swan-song for the 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, and what a fine way to leave the range. Expected by those in the know to produce as much as 660bhp in the Black Edition (up from 563bhp in the cooking model SLS), it sounds absolutely amazing in the flesh.
As mentioned in a recent Chris Harris column on Pistonheads, the much-maligned-for-its-detuning 7-speed double-clutch gearbox will also have the dial turned up to '11' in order to match that raucous engine. Just what this car needs if it's to go toe-to-toe with its competitors...
