It's been a while since I could offer BTG members a special deal, but here's a really good one. I chose the Nitron R1+ suspension kit for my Project 328i, and they're so happy with my review that they've decided to offer you guys a whopping 10% off the £1995 kit...

After the ridiculously fast lap I posted last week, this week I'm pleased to share the new electric lap record posted by the Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) EV P002 prototype sportscar. Humming its way into the record books with a 7m22s full lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, that's another new record...

Today the Nürburgring Nordschleife is booked exclusively to Nissan, and dealers from all over Germany and Europe are present to experience the new 2013 and 2014 GTR models and development program. Many of the dealers are also under the impression that Toshio-san might be about to set a new laptime...

This morning my inbox was full. No, not full. Fuller than full. It was bulging like Olaf Manthey's trophy cabinet. And all the PMs, emails and messages were the same basic question:
"What the f%#k is going on at the Nürburgring?"

I desperately don’t want to be impressed, but I am. Audi have made a ‘leccy R8 and not only is it quick, but it’s actually usable for three whole laps of the Nürburgring. Toyota’s big boss, Mr. Toyoda, has come-over all misty-eyed for BMWs and basically announced a green sportscar project with BMW all while plugging the Nürburgring like a mad man. Or at least like somebody who loves the ‘ring at least as much as we all do. Very cool stuff indeed. Once again the Nürburgring is the hub of the automotive world.

A laptime at the Nürburgring Nordschleife seems de rigeur for any supercar, but Bugatti seem to have avoided the whole 'ring laptime' question. Until today, at least. Whether they like it or not, the arrival of this Veyron Super Sport has set tongues in the village wagging. Wearing the Wolfsburg plates of parent company Volkswagen, this Veyron has been feeling its way around the Nordschleife all morning. And it's getting faster...

This is the Nürburgring's newest Taxi, but unfortunately it won't be taking any fares soon. I spotted this 510 horsepower beast lurking at the back of the recent Jaguar event I attended (more on that later). It's a long-wheelbase XJ luxury sedan, with the supercharged 5.0ltr V8. But instead of the normal luxurious leather first-class seating, it has four individual Recaro bucket seats fitted...
