This is a 2-year-old fan video linked to my via facebook and northloop. My fellow video gamers will of course recognise the music too... some great shots of the Nordschleife dating all the way back to the beginning. Strange how these things can be around for so long, but without a link or two, nobody ever sees them...

This is a beautiful piece of cinematography with the Nürburgring and the Honda NSX as the main ingredients. If you've got the bandwidth you should check out the HD version on Vimeo. Either way, turn it up loud!

Just in case you aren't aware already, BTG has a Vimeo Channel. Not only is uploading videos easier on Vimeo thanks to their uploading widget, but also the final quality is usually much superior to YouTube. On there right now you'll find a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a Porsche 996 GT2 and a lap in a Ford Focus RS mk2... enjoy!

You may have noticed a lack of new stories recently. That's largely due to the circuit not being available for the last week thanks to the HUGE festival that is MTV's 'Rock Am Ring'. Three massive stages, over 200,000 sweaty beer-drinkers and some of the biggest acts around. The Nordschleife in this period becomes a campsite. These photos were shot by my friend Bruce from the seat of his old XT250 trail bike and posted on the Northloop forum. If you're one of the many who wondered why it takes a few days for the track to open - wonder no more! There is a serious clean-up operation underway right now with hundreds of workers involved!

The approach to Schwalbenschwanz is clearly marked - just not with your normal pylons.

You might not want to use this gravel trap until it's been cleared up a little!

From the music to the sunglasses, this is a video that should make you smile! I'm loving the combination of AE86 Corolla and old pre-renovation Nordschleife. Please enjoy... (thanks to Declan for the tip!)

On Sunday we managed half a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife. But only on foot! Judging from the tracks in the snow, the only vehicles to complete a lap this winter were snow-mobiles and caterpillar-track conversions. As I'm hoping the current thaw is the last one, I'll post some photos up of a snowy Nordschleife. We're ready for the sunshine now, thanks. Please send it ASAP...
