It's no secret that the Nürburgring can be busy at times, that's why some people spend a lot of money on 'private' courses like the world renowned (and bloody expensive) Scuderia Hanseat school. They should give you the opportunity to experience the Nordschleife in a relaxed environment... well, it was a nice idea!

Internet forums can be the best and worst of experiences. They put likeminded people together and can produce everything from hilarity to hysteria. What never ceases to amazes me are the number of 'experts' on every forum... if you think you've spotted yourself in the following collection of Nurburgring myths, do yourself a favour. For once in your life, don't click 'Reply'... >>READ MORE HERE

Take a look at the Nürburgring video here. Pretty cool stuff, right? It's GT5 vs real life. Both in Nissan GTRs with near identical laptimes. As you might already know, I *love* a good race on GT5. Only on GT5 can I race all my mates, pick any car I want and not have pesky consequences to worry about. BUT what's really important to remember is that GT5 is only a game... read more here

Bonus BTG points to the reader who can identify the car.
Downloadable hi-res wallpaper version here:

*'dog walk' = we walk to the track, I stand stationary at a hole in the fence and my spotty dog Jessy runs around looking for old chips and currywurst containers, only occasionaly choking half-to-death on a plastic fork

Sometimes, if you don't laugh you'll cry. BTG user Maximilian sent me the following video. After spending half a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife waiting patiently for a Porsche to move to the right for his Viper, he realised the Porsche driver had no such intention... read more and see the full video after the jump.

I am aware that there has been an excess of iron on BTG recently. Big, heavy American iron. I am changing the pace right now with this short video (in French, I did say it was a change of pace) from the presentation (pron. prez-un-tash-ee-on) of the Citroen DS3 3R...
