Racing drivers strutting around a public session in fireproof underwear is always both amusing and un-nerving. These public sessions are attended by trackday drivers, ring taxis and camper vans. Add a few motorcyclists and rental cars, and you have an interesting mix.

Unfortunately the nomex-suited numpty (pictured below) forgot about everybody else mentioned above, and after allegedly crashing heavily at Brünnchen (so heavily indeed that the nose of his car is about 12-inches off to one side) he decided to finish his personal race by driving nearly 6km back to the car park! Trouble is, it's not a race. And the only reward he gets for 'limping' his car over the finish line is a very exciting interview with the Polizei...
Behind him the scene was utter chaos as bikes and cars alike hit the barriers on the lake of coolant and miscellaneous fluids he left behind.
UPDATE: I've just been in touch with BTGer Simon, who hit the ground on his R1 as a result of this spill. He confirms no serious injury, but a lot of broken metal.
SO HERE'S THE LESSON, KIDDIES: HIT THE BARRIERS? DROPPING FLUIDS? PLEASE STOP!

SATIRE: "Yes officer, I thought I could save €200 of towing charges by driving back..."

BTW love the new template Dale, nice job!
With regards to insurance, here in NL the insurance pays the other parties but gets the money back from you, if it does not fall under the insurance coverage. Not sure how it works in DE.
I suppose they just want the money to keep on rolling in........

Dale, apparently there was only one bike involved an people are complaining about your misleading "utter chaos". Just to let you know.
Maybe it was not utter chaos but I tend to be on Dale's side here. My first three visits to the Ring involved closures for fatal motor cycle accidents. It is difficult not to drive (I am not a biker) just a bit too close to the limit of one's talents on such an amazing piece of road which leaves precious little margin if you hit a spill.
I have hit oil in the wet on the Ring which is a bit frightening but you are always going slower and searching for any grip in the wet. I have also hit coolant at "miss-hit-miss" on a warm day with tons of grip and I honestly thought Ron Simons was going to spend the afternoon reaming out my colon
If I was that chap in the nomex I would be counting my lucky stars that I didn't dispatch a motorcyclist to the promised land.
